Everyone wants to be healthier. Because when you are healthier, you are happier. Juicing is a way for you to consume more fruits and veggies and by including more of these foods in your diet, you can be healthier.

Fruits and veggies contain many vitamins and minerals that your body needs to function properly. Juicing is a great way of getting these nutrients from the fruits and veggies but in liquid form. Many choose juicing so they can get many nutrients all in one glass instead of eating the fruits or veggies.

Besides being healthier and happier because of it, everyone also likes to save money. Sometimes making your own foods or drinks at home can help you do just that. But, does juicing save you money?

In most cases juicing doesn’t save money. It can help you to get more nutrients from the additional fruits and veggies, but in terms of cost, juicing is pretty expensive. First, you have to buy the juicer, then you have to buy a lot of fruits and veggies to make the amount of juice you need.

It takes a lot of fruits and veggies to equal one container of juice so in most cases juicing will cost quite a bit of money unless you have access to cheap fruit or veggies from your local area or that you grow yourself.

Basically, juicing extracts the juice from fruits and veggies. But why is it expensive? Well, when you are beginning juicing, you first have to buy a juicer. Be sure to look into the pros and cons of different ones because depending on what you want in a juicer, some may be better for you to use than others.

Juicers can cost anywhere from $75 to $500. The higher quality juicers will last longer than the lower quality ones, so you will end up getting more for your money if you purchase a more expensive juicer. But, already this has cost you more money than if you would just eat the fruits and veggies whole.

Now, when you start juicing you need to buy a lot of fruit and vegetables. For example, 2 or 3 oranges are needed to make a 6 ounce glass of orange juice. While some fruits and veggies will make more or less juice, you will need to take into account that all the fruit and veggies you have to buy will cost you money rather than save you money.

Along with money, it can also cost you extra time to make the fruit and veggie juice. You will need to wash, cut off the inedible parts of the fruit or veggie, and then juice them. Juicing is worth it if you are serious about eating more fruits and veggies or trying to lose weight, but remember that these can be expensive to buy on a consistent basis, especially in such large quantities.

If you are planning on juicing often, then this will require a lot of fruits and veggies to make a lot of juice. Keep in mind that if you are planning on juicing fruits and veggies, only juice as much as you can drink at one time. Harmful bacteria can grow quickly in freshly squeezed juice which is why you should also choose a pasteurized juice if you are buying it from the store.

Buying fruits and veggies often can be costly as well as the juicer to juice them with can be expensive. So, juicing won’t save you money, but it can be healthier for you and in the long run help you live a better life.

Is Juicing Really Worth It?

Eating whole fruits and veggies is best, but juicing is a great alternative. It is better than cooking or steaming them and also allows you to ingest large amounts of the fruits and veggies at once.

If you are replacing unhealthy foods with juicing, then this can help you to become healthier as well. Fruits and veggies are an important part of your diet giving you tons of nutrients and a very small amount of calories. If you already eat a lot of fruits and veggies in a day, then this can just be a way for you to drink the foods instead of eating each one.

But, is juicing really worth it?

Although juicing is costly, it can be worth it if you are trying to eat healthier and/or wanting to lose weight. Juicing can give you many nutrients by drinking a lot of fruits and veggies at once. So, it depends on your own personal preference if juicing is worth it.

Juicing actually isn’t any healthier than simply eating the fruits and veggies whole. It will still contain all the vitamins and minerals that the fruit or veggie does. It will also still contain the plant chemicals found in the fruit.

Healthy fiber found in whole fruits and veggies is lost during most juicing processes. Many think that juicing is better than eating the whole fruits or veggies and they say that your body can absorb all nutrients they contain better and help out your digestive systems.

It is said that juicing can reduce your risk of cancer, boost your immune system, remove toxins from the body, aid in digestion, and also help you to lose weight. But, there isn’t any scientific evidence to prove that juicing is better than eating the whole fruit or vegetable.

If you don’t enjoy eating fruit and vegetables often, then juicing may be for you. It’s a great way to add fruits and veggies you wouldn’t typically eat to your diet. Instead of juicing you could also try just blending all the edible parts of the fruit or veggie together. This can give you more phytonutrients than juicing does since some nutrients are lost in juicing.

Blending the fruits and veggies can create a drink that contains more healthy plant chemicals and fiber. Fiber can help you lose weight since it makes you feel more full. Although it doesn’t cost less to do, blending can be healthier for you since you are getting more of the natural chemicals found in the plants.

Final Thoughts

Juicing doesn’t save money, but it is healthy. The cost of juicing can be worth it for someone who is trying to eat healthier or lose weight. If this is the case, then juicing is worth it since it gives you a lot of nutrients.

To start juicing you will need to buy a juicer, which can cost a few hundred dollars. You will also need to buy a lot of fruit and vegetables often which can be costly.

As you can see, juicing can be a great way to eat more fruits and veggies, but it won’t save you money.
